Sicily (Italian: Sicilia) is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and an autonomous region of Italy, located just off the "toe" of the Italian peninsula. Known for its rich history, diverse landscapes, and vibrant culture, Sicily blends Greek, Roman, Arab, and Norman influences. The island offers ancient ruins, volcanic landscapes, baroque towns, pristine beaches, and unique cuisine.
